ITSA® — International Technical Sales Association — is a professional certification body specializing in Technical Sales, Pre-Sales, Solution Consulting, and customer-facing technical commercial environments.

 

What is CTSP®?
 

CTSP® stands for Certified Technical Sales Professional®.

It is a professional certification designed to validate competency in Technical Sales methodologies, customer engagement, solution positioning, and commercial communication.

 

Who issues the CTSP® certification?
 

The CTSP® credential is issued exclusively by ITSA®.

 

Will I receive a study guide?
 

Yes. All candidates receive access to the official CTSP® Study Guide based on their selected certification level and track.

 

Is the preparation self-paced?

Yes. Candidates can study at their own pace before attempting the certification examination.

 

What does the study guide include?

The study guide covers the required Technical Sales competencies, methodologies, frameworks, and professional practices included within the certification.

 

How do I earn the certification?

To obtain the CTSP® credential, candidates must:

  1. Study the official CTSP® Study Guide

  2. Successfully pass the certification examination


 

Is the exam online?

Is the exam timed?

Yes. The examination is a timed professional assessment.
 

How many attempts are allowed?

Candidates are allowed up to:

3 examination attempts

per certification enrollment.
 

What happens if I fail all attempts?

If a candidate does not successfully pass the examination after the third attempt, re-enrollment may be required before attempting the examination again.
 

Are the examination questions randomized?

Yes. The examination utilizes randomized question structures and multiple question pools.
 

Is the exam open-book?

The certification examination is designed as a professional competency assessment. Candidates are strongly encouraged to study the official CTSP® Study Guide thoroughly before attempting the exam.
 

Is the certification lifetime?

Certification validity may vary depending on the certification framework and future program policies.

 

Can fresh graduates apply?

Yes. CTSP® Core is specifically designed to support early-career professionals and individuals entering the Technical Sales field.
 

Is prior Technical Sales experience required?

Not for CTSP® Core.

However, CTSP® Advanced is recommended for professionals with previous Technical Sales or enterprise
commercial experience.

All credentials can be verified through the official ITSA® verification system using:
